Have you looked through your home and feel as though it's outdated or has lost it's "oomph"? Many people feel this way and they think they need to remodel or buy all new things to bring life back into their space. However, with my help, I can rearrange your space into something new and within any budget you may have.
When I was taking my interior design courses, I came to the realization that staging is not only for people selling their homes - but in fact homeowners, renters, and vacation properties can all benefit from a decor transformation and you don't have to spend hundreds of dollars to do so.
People tend to get set in their ways and are often afraid of change. But, if we don't embrace change how can we grow? Changing things from one room to another is a great place to start any décor endeavor. What may not look good in one room, may look great in another! This is just one of my many tips and tricks that can help you utilize what you already have to make your space feel new again.
With my teams and I's help, there would be no need to spend thousands of dollars to re-decorate your house. We would go into your home and take an inventory of what you have and then start the declutter process. Somethings will need to be packed up so be sure to have bins and boxes ready to go. Then, we would be able to start rearranging the items that are already in your home to give each room a new vibe.
Minimizing clutter not only opens up your home, but it can help relieve stress and keep your home more organized.
Having too much stuff on counters, shelves, tables or floors gives the illusion that your place is smaller than it is. If you find that you have a lot of little things laying around one way to organize them is to put them into cute baskets or storage containers.
There are many factors to consider when decorating any space. Lighting, wall color, flooring and your color pallet are all things to think about when you are decorating any space. My best advice is to invest in great art and one really nice piece of furniture and then work from there! Garage sales, Facebook market place and Craigslist are a great place to look for good deals on unique and quality items for your home. One of my favourite ways to add new life to a space is to incorporate mirrors and greenery.
It's never easy and can be overwhelming. To start the declutter process, get 5 bins or empty bags/ boxes and label them.
1. KEEP 2. NOT SURE 3. DONATE 4. GARBAGE 5. MISSING PIECES
Take your time and start the process. As you go through your day, add things to the totes. soon you will start filling them up and it will become a routine in no time.
I'm getting overwhelmed, what do I do? STOP!!! Breath and take a minute to reflect. Ask yourself why your doing this and restart your brain to go in the direction of self worth again. Count from 5 and go backwards. 5,4,3,2,1. Sounds weird but it will change the path the brain is taking you to. Do it multiple times if you have to. Writing things down helps me. I write a list of what I'm trying to accomplish and things I see in my home that I want to clear and then I take my list and get to work. It takes the pressure off a bit as your reading your check list and not having to think about it anymore. Just grab and put in the appropriate bins. Make sense?
